Description

This Sydney mountain biking course is aimed at providing the fundamental skills and abilities required to get the most out of riding your mountain bike. It will further develop basic techniques needed for all types of mountain biking and will ready you to hit the trail with confidence and ability!

  • Do you have some confidence on easier trails but don’t feel comfortable on more technical and difficult sections?
  • Do you want to try mountain biking but have no-one to ride with or teach you how to get started?
  • Do you, your family or your children want to learn how to ride trails?
  • Do you want to improve technique and improve confidence?

We understand that confidence is important at this stage of riding development. The activities undertaken as part of this course are designed to give you not only the skills but the experience to ride in different terrain.

Our staff are fully trained, accredited, professional and friendly and will ensure you enjoy the experience of learning how to ride a mountain bike properly.

You will learn:

  • Setting up your bike
  • How a mountain bike works
  • Tackling different terrain – sand, roots, rocks, dirt
  • Cornering safely and at speed
  • Balance
  • Tackling small obstacles
  • Negotiating small drops safely
  • Open climbs and technical climbs
  • Safe descending – open and single track descents
  • General trail riding – easy
  • Basic bike maintenance

Please Note: You need to bring your own mountain bike. We recommend that your bike is fully serviced by a qualified bike mechanic before attending this course.

Guidelines:

Children under 10 years of age must be accompanied by a responsible paying adult. You also need to have a good level of health and fitness. If you have particular goals or concerns prior to the course then our trainers are happy to discuss and modify activities to suit you.

Numbers:

The price quoted is for one person. There will be a minimum of four and a maximum of eight participants in the group.

Weather:

This experience may be affected by the weather. In the case of poor weather conditions we may need to reschedule your experience for a later date.

Session Length:

This experience takes place on selected dates throughout the year. Your mountain biking course starts at 9am and goes until 3pm.

Extra Info:

You will need to sign a waiver prior to participating in this experience. You also need to bring your own mountain bike and other basic equipment – a kit list will be provided to you after booking. All trainers are accredited and have Wilderness First Aid qualifications.
