Do you have a sweet tooth? Love your gelato? Then this is the experience of a lifetime! Come and learn the history of gelato while enjoying samples of various flavours. Watch how gelato is made by a trained 'gelataio' and taste the freshest gelato straight from the trittico!

Upon arrival at the gelato factory, you are welcomed into the boardroom where you will be given a brief introduction on the history of gelato making. We will explain what gelato is, the differences between gelato, sorbet and ice-cream and how to identify a great gelato. You’ll also be shown a video on gelato making starring one of our head gelato makers.

You’ll then move downstairs to the training centre where you’ll be shown step-by-step how gelato is made in a commercial environment.

You’ll be shown how to make a sorbet gelato which is prepared on the spot. While the gelato is in the mixer, you’ll have an opportunity to try as many of the flavours as you like!

The gelato only takes 10-20 minutes to prepare and then you'll get to taste the freshest gelato available – straight from the mixer! One of you will even be given the opportunity to extract the gelato yourself.

We'll show you how to make a milk-based gelato and the differences in ingredients between sorbet and milk-based gelato. You'll also experience how to make the famous Gelatissimo bambino cone. By now, we guarantee that your gelato taste buds will be well satisfied!

The class ends with question time and an opportunity for you to purchase any of the gelato products that take your fancy on the day! You will also receive complimentary vouchers and a surprise gift at the end of your gelato experience.

Guidelines:

The workshop is suitable for anybody 10 years of age or older however children must be accompanied by an adult. You will be standing during the majority of the workshop, with the exception of the 15-20 minutes in the boardroom.

Numbers:

We operate with a maximum of 15 people per workshop.

Weather:

This activity is not affected by the weather.

Session Length:

The Gelato Workshops are run once a month on a Saturday. Please allow at least 1.5 hours for the workshop. We run one session per day at 10am. PLEASE NOTE: We are particularly busy over the warmer months and we recommend that you book at least 2 months in advance to secure your place.
