Do you want to improve how you look and feel about yourself? This make-up workshop will teach you how to apply your make up like a professional make up artist. You'll be surprised at the impact your new look will have on your personal and professional life.

Before arriving for the make up workshop you'll be grouped with 5 other individuals according to either age or reason for doing the workshop (e.g. refreshing current look or never used make up before) and gather at our Darlinghurst, Sydney studio at 9:30am.

In a casual, fun atmosphere, our make up artist and tutor Chris King demonstrates the techniques of make up application on a model (‘real face’, not professional model) and touches on, through his own experiences varying attitudes to beauty. Questions are welcomed. The morning chat is intended to encourage women to challenge some of their concepts about beauty and to appreciate that beauty can be more than just skin deep. Chris demonstrates several different looks on the same face, explaining his techniques as he progresses.

At 12:30pm clients enjoy the surrounding cafes of Darlinghurst during the hour break for lunch (not provided).

At 1:30pm clients return for the practical session; Chris recommends make up types and shades/colours for you to apply using the methods explained during the demonstration. All make up and tools for application are supplied. Clients may refer to their workbooks, written by Chris, to assist them and use these as a reminder when you are at home going solo!

Depending on the requirements of the group, workshops finish between 3:30 and 4:30pm;

Come armed with your current make up in hand, if you wish for a critique on what you are currently using, and with a list of questions.

Individual workshops are available for those with special needs or time constraints.

We work often within the corporate sector, teaching professional women about the psychology of make up in the workplace and for special demands such as public speaking. Workshops can be used as team building, incentives for clients and staff alike or to assist in brand building (eg hotels).

Guidelines:

A clean face is best, although you can wear your make up for a critique of your technique and colours. Bring your own cleanser and other preparatory skin care products, especially if you have sensitive skin. Bring money for your lunch at the nearby cafes.

Numbers:

This experience is for one person however there may be up to 5 others in the group.

Weather:

The make up session is indoors and is therefore not affected by the weather.

Session Length:

Workshops are scheduled according to demand. Workshops are usually held on Saturdays, but other days are available (subject to availability and demand).

The workshops are small to assure personal attention. From teens to mature ages, Chris will teach you to apply your make up to make the best of your features and to suit your lifestyle. Learn about professional make up application techniques, products and what tools to use.
