Kayak Magnetic Island By Double Sea Kayak
What is the Experience?
View nature in the wild on the Islands only Accredited Eco-Tour, as you discover the National & Marine Park from the quiet of your sea kayak. Drift over coral gardens to enjoy a tropical breakfast on a secluded beach. We take only photo's & leave only footprints!
Your half day, sea kayak adventure will start as soon as you are picked up from your local bus stop by the Magnetic Island Bus Service for a scenic early morning drive over to Horseshoe Bay, being dropped off across the road from our departure point.
After checking in, you will be given full instruction and a safety brief prior to being kitted out with a life jacket and spray deck. Next comes the exciting part of launching your kayak. You will be given further instruction once afloat on how to control your current designs crosswind double sea kayak at sea. This experience is suitable for beginner to intermediate paddlers.
The guided kayak tour takes over as you follow the rugged coastline of the island around to one of its northern bays, usually the secluded Balding Bay - a bay with no road access or perhaps the picturesque Radical Bay.
After pulling ashore, you will be treated to a tropical breakfast on the beach. Then it's time for relaxation and an opportunity to learn about the history and ecology of the island before launching your kayak for the return trip.
On the return journey, you will get to paddle within metres of huge granite boulders, search the coastline for its many wading sea-birds, watch huge birds of prey soar above you, or look and listen for a sea-turtle surfacing to breathe close by.
You will return to Horseshoe Bay at approximately 12.45pm.
Please Note: We use the Magnetic Island Bus Service to provide all bus transfers. The return leg of the transfer is valid any time after the tour has finished.
