Horseriding Adventure And Overnight Stay
What is the Experience?
Do a true Victorian Horseriding Adventure! Spend two nights riding through high country for unimaginable views across mountain tops! The food is home-cooked and fantastic, the horses happy and healthy, the accommodation traditional, homestead-style. Explore Victoria in the most wonderful way!
You'll arrive at the extensive, gorgeous property in the Victorian high country the day prior to your horse ride. Your horse riding package includes 2 nights accommodation, one days horse riding and all meals. Depending on the weather, we'll have dinner outside under the stars, or tucked inside by a wall of glass overlooking the valley.
Your accommodation is either twin share, single or double, with linen and towels supplied. Large deck space let you enjoy a wonderful view of the night sky. This is true mountain-style, rustic accommodation - we're talking oil lamps - it's truly a mountain adventure.
We'll allocate horses (there's a ring yard so you can try your horse out before heading off), saddle up and head off into the adjoining National Park. There are tracks in all directions so on the day we'll decide which one to take, based on experience levels and weather. Some tracks head up and over nearby mountains offering great views. It's an area steeped in history of gold mining, cattlemen and Aboriginal sites, evidence of all still to be seen.
During summer we can ride alongside the Bundarrah, Mitta Mitta and Cobungra Rivers finding water holes to swim in. Lunch is usually a thick sandwich, followed by delicious home made cake and fresh fruit - or a vehicle may meet us for a barbeque.
Travel through changing vegetation, past huge rock boulders, narrow bush tracks and open farm lands. There are opportunities for cantering, though much is walking and taking in the scenery. Horses walk in on a loose rein on the home stretch. If you're an experienced rider and wish to break away from the group, you will be able to do this at intervals. And if you're riding with a friend who is less experienced, it may be possible for you to take them with you.
There's a lot of space to wander off and be alone after the ride or join in on the deck and be social. We may have the camp fire going, where you can rest, enjoying home made appetizers with a beverage.
Venue:

Choose your date! The wildflower season is October til late December and of course Autumn is nice and mild too. For those who like a bit of a challenge and something really different, take on winter or high summer - but these are the mountains, and summer and winter impose extreme temperatures.
