What is the Experience?

Discover the essence of the pristine Australian bush on a canoeing safari on the beautiful Goulburn River in Northern Victoria. The half day canoeing adventure takes you deep into the southern section of the huge Barmah Forest, a natural habitat for many species of water and forest birds.

This half day canoeing experience on the Goulburn River starts near Wyuna, which is just over 2-hours due north from Melbourne.

Accredited tour operators will meet you on the Murray Valley Highway near Wyuna after which you will follow them to Yambuna Bridge. Your vehicle/s will be safely parked here, and you are then driven upstream the appropriate distance.

You will spend the rest of your time slowly paddling with the gentle current back to the bridge. Most people prefer to paddle alone and can do this with no problems. Along the way you may be lucky enough to catch a glimpse of a shy platypus and see a magnificent wedge tail eagle majestically soar overhead.

Suitability & Guidelines

Venue:

Wyuna is 30km east of Echuca on the Murray Valley Highway or about a 2 hour drive north of Melbourne.

Session Length

This experience is available 7 days a week, all year round (except Christmas Day). The weekends and public holidays are particularly busy, so please book in advance to avoid disappointment. The half day tour usually starts at 10am and concludes at about 2pm.

Guidelines:

Children under 12 must be accompanied by a paying adult. No experience is necessary as canoeing instructions will be provided on the day.
