Be a rock star for a day in Adelaide! Record your favourite songs in a professional recording studio using pre-recorded backing tracks. Have a professional photo shoot and help us graphically design your very own CD cover. At the end you get to take home your very own fully produced CD package!

One of the common elements in every musician’s life is recording their work. The energy and excitement that has led to their success needs to be captured in a recording studio. Television programs like Australian Idol have given you a brief look inside the studio walls, but imagine if you could not only go to the studio, but become the recording artist! Rock Star for a Day has been designed to provide ‘non-musicians’ with an authentic studio experience.

You will be provided with a list of songs from all genres from over 50 years, when you arrive at the studio, simply tell us which songs you have selected.

On the day of your experience, your host will give you a tour of the studio and make you feel comfortable. He will show you the recording room which is packed with guitars, keyboards, drums, leads and cables and you will very quickly get a feel for the raw energy of the studio. The control room has a lot of recording equipment and devices, within minutes you find yourself completely immersed in your recording experience.

In your experience you will:

Sing your selected songs into a high-powered studio microphone while reading the lyrics off a TV screen. You can practice the songs before you record them and you’ll have several attempts to make sure you are happy with the end result.
Have a photo shoot and select the photos you like the most to be used for the CD artwork.
Graphically design your own CD. Choose from our pre-designed templates or make up your own concept for the CD artwork (front and back cover and on the CD itself).

Rock Star for a Day has been designed to be fun, exciting and easy. Your hosts job is to make sure that you get the most out of your experience and is very flexible and understanding of each persons individual needs.

Guidelines:

No minimum age but supervision is required for minors. For the backing tracks you can select songs from the suppliers website at no charge. Alternatively, if you wish you can bring your own CD on the day, this will incur an additional charge payable directly to the supplier.

Numbers:

If you book this experience for one person you will be on your own with the professionals. However this experience is also available for groups of up to eight.

Session Length:

Allow approximately 3 - 4 hours for your entire experience, which will include an hour of recording time. The length of the experience is partly determined by whether you are doing it just for fun or are being a bit more serious about it. We’ll work with you to achieve what you want to.

Extra Info:

The songs you wish to sing must be selected from the suppliers website at least 3 days prior to the session. An order is placed and the CD received the following day. There is no CD library or access to downloads so all songs MUST be preordered. There are approximately 9800 songs to choose from.
