What is the Experience?

Get ready for the flight of a lifetime as you experience a real top gun adventure with a tactical mission flight in a genuine British military aircraft used by the British Royal Airforce! Experience high ‘G’ forces and up to 900kph guaranteed to get the adrenalin pumping.

Upon your arrival at the airport, you’ll be welcomed by our friendly staff and begin with a ‘top gun’ style pre-flight briefing. Your pilot will quickly put you at ease and brief you on the fundamentals of High ‘G’ force and high speed flight. This flight is a ‘Tactical Mission’ based on real world tactics and scenarios. Your pilot will brief you on the ‘enemy situation’, the strategies of modern aerial combat, and the mission at hand.

With the briefing completed, you’ll gear up in authentic fighter pilot flying equipment. You’ll look and feel like a true ‘Top Gun’ – the perfect opportunity for some fantastic photos.

This flight is done in the British-built Jet Provost Mk5a. It has a powerful Rolls Royce turbo jet engine that produces 2500 pounds of thrust. It has comfortable side by side seating affording expansive 360 degree views and was formerly owned by the British Royal Air Force (RAF).

Once in the jet, you’ll be strapped into the front seat, with your pilot seated next to you.

Along the way you will evade simulated enemy missiles requiring mind blowing missile defence manoeuvres and conversion to the low altitude environment to avoid enemy radar. Pressing on towards the target at super fast low altitude, you’ll get the maximum speed rush! During the flight, you’ll have to avoid enemy fire until finally arriving to the ‘Target’ and conducting a simulated weapons delivery. The mission isn’t over until you’re back home, requiring you to tactically fight your way safely back to base. Once back at the squadron you’ll debrief the mission and celebrate its success!

A DVD recording of the flight may be purchased for an additional cost of $150 on the day of the flight (price subject to change without notice).

Suitability & Guidelines

Venue:

Hobart International Airport, Tasmania.

Session Length

We operate 7 days a week, from 9am to 5pm (excluding public holidays). Bookings are essential and subject to availability. Each flight experience will require you to allocate up to 3 hours. You’ll be in the aircraft for approximately 35 minutes, from start up to shut down.

Guidelines:

You must be less than 190cm tall and weigh less than 125kg. You need to be in good general health. Minimum age is 14 years, however, passengers under 18 years will need to be accompanied by their parent or guardian. Passengers under the influence of alcohol or drugs will not be allowed to fly.

Numbers:

The price quoted is for one person. You will be with your pilot on the day of your flight. We can accommodate up to 10 individual passengers in one day.

Weather:

In the event of poor flying conditions, we reserve the right to reschedule your experience for a later date.

Other Info:

You will be required to sign a full liability waiver prior to your experience. We guarantee that all our passengers will only fly with an actual military trained fighter pilot. Cancellations with less than 7 days notice, will incur a fee. No shows will forfeit their voucher.

This experience voucher is valid for six months from date of purchase.
