We had the most wonderful hosts who looked after us so well. The decor of the home was so beautiful, comfortable with every detail taken care of. The breakfast was exceptional, 3 courses served in the exquisite dining room. The train ride was fun. Shirley was the best hostess on the train being so friendly and looking after everyone with refreshments. She looks like she loves being there!

This was a great experience from start to finish. Everyone we came in contact with was so helpful, and willingly gave their time and expertise to make our experience memorable. They filled our time with knowledge, humour and great memories. A great experience from the time we booked in to the Motel until we left the steam train on our return journey. Thanks so much to everyone concerned.

The day of the train journey was amazing - perfect weather and a marvelous trip, especially rattling along on the footplate. The restoration work carried out on the VGR rolling stock is something to behold - so elegant. We enjoyed our time so much we stayed an extra two days, just to soak up the local history. Well worth every cent!

The weekend was very "historical" in nature which gave it a unique feeling for my wife and I. From the historical township of Maldon, to the period style motel (loved the cast iron bed head!), to the pasta dinner by an open fire, to the trip on the steam train in the fantastically restored Parlour Car. Thanks to everyone involved - including my kids for a fantastic Fathers Day gift.

The accommodation was like stepping back in time. It fitted perfectly with the steam train era. Taking the 10.30 train to Castlemaine and then exploring the quaint shops of the many cafes was a lovely way to spend the day. Make sure you check out the Restorers Barn! The wine, cheese and bickies on the way back was a great way to finish off the day. We will never forget it. Thank you.

My husband loved the footplate trip and all in all was a very enjoyable weekend. The motel was very comfortable and clean and the staff friendly and helpful. Everyone concerned with the train trip did a great job to make you welcome and carried out the preliminaries very efficiently. It was obvious that they all enjoyed their work and it showed! What a great crew they all are.

We will be telling others how fantastic the experience was and how we were made to feel special in front of non Red Ballooners. The special facilities supplied within the package made our experience truly memorable! My wife and I had a fantastic time and we will be recommending to others that they at least look at your range of experiences.

This experience is very enjoyable, the people running the railway are very friendly, with lots of good old fashioned country warmth, they bent over backwards to make sure we had an enjoyable experience!

We found the accomodation clean, comfortable and the staff very welcoming. To ride up the front in the loco on the firemans seat was a real buzz and then to relax back in the carriage with champagne and nibbles was very special.

Maldon is a beautiful town, not too touristy. Prices are affordable and the people are very friendly. The motel was in quaint and romantic surrounds and the train ride was fun.

I got this experience for my husband's 30th birthday and it was absolutely fabulous. All the people that operate the steam train were lovely, which made the experience all the more special. The accommodation we had was just as wonderful, the motel staff were friendly and very helpful - we couldn't have enjoyed the experience more!
