What is the Experience?

What better way to view Brisbane city at night, than from the safety and comfort of your own 2-person canoe! The Story Bridge and Brisbane city buildings transform to a city of fairy lights as you paddle peacefully through the evening before finishing off with supper!

Upon arrival at our canoe departure location, your Brisbane city lights canoe trip begins with an equipment overview and safety brief, followed by an on shore demonstration. After all the technicalities are out of the way, we launch your canoe in anticipation of your paddle along the Brisbane River!

Once in the water, we get everyone to have a little practice in the canoe in a safe area before we embark on our journey on the Brisbane River.

During the canoe experience, you’ll be paddling in a two person, flat bottom, very stable canoe. The trip is designed to be a gentle and highly enjoyable paddle. In the event that we have odd numbers, one of our friendly instructors will be happy to paddle with you if required.

The direction we take depends on the tide, but whilst paddling on the Brisbane River, the environment takes on an atmosphere of its own especially at night. On a beautiful, still night the glow on the water from all the lights transforms the river into a very peaceful and tranquil place.

After you have been in the canoe for a few hours and worked up an appetite, we’ll return to shore and treat you to a cheese, fruit and nut platter, where you will have the opportunity to socialise with your fellow canoe companions.

Session Length

The experience operates once a month on a Friday evening, subject to availability. The experience is approximately 3 hours in duration. We start at 6pm and finish at approximately 9pm.

Guidelines:

This canoe experience is suitable for almost anyone with a reasonable level of fitness, however, children should be 7 years or older. For family experiences, we have booster seats so that young children can just sit and enjoy the experience.

Numbers:

The price quoted is for one person. We use 2-person canoes, so individual bookings will be paired with another person for the canoe trip. We operate with a maximum of 12 people on the trip.

Weather:

We operate in most weather conditions. In the event of high winds or extremely heavy rain, we may reschedule your experience for a later date. If you are in any doubt, please contact the supplier to confirm.
